BORDERWALKING – HOW TO CROSS is a performative reflection on the border and at the border, created through a collaboration between the Polish theatre duo Turkowski & Nowacka and the German artist Gesine Danckwart.

Travelling back and forth across the border region, they paused for a time in a place that tells the story of the past 30 years of Polish-German relations and is a living laboratory of everyday intercultural practices and Polish-German dialogue. They invite you to join them on May 16 and hear the stories they themselves have only just encountered: about trade, work, friendships, love, times of prosperity and crisis, the strength to survive, assigned roles, and shifting power dynamics. BORDERWALKING is a story about what divides and what connects, about crossing and pausing, about what is familiar and what is foreign, about lines of division and spaces of tension, but also about a place of meeting.
